Priti calls for reforms to support investment in jobs

Witham MP Priti Patel has called on the Government to develop a labour market strategy and cut taxes to empower businesses to invest in jobs in Essex. Speaking in the House of Commons during questions to ministers in the Department for Work and Pensions Priti pressed the case for lower taxes and regulatory reforms to boost the already high levels of employment in Essex. In response, Employment Minister Guy Opperman MP praised Priti for her work in Essex supporting businesses, investment and jobs.

Priti said:

“Essex is the county of entrepreneurs and an economic powerhouse with businesses of all sizes eager to invest in jobs and growth. While we benefit from having high levels of employment in Essex, if the Government puts in place the right framework to encourage new investment into the County businesses will then create more jobs and better paid jobs. Cutting taxes and reducing red tape is one of the most effective ways to support business investment and I will always champion this cause.”
