Witham MP welcomes funding for ambulance service

Witham MP Priti Patel  has welcomed a funding boost for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) which will mean an increase in the number of staff and ambulances over the next three years.

EEAST is set to receive over £25m in funding in the years up to 2019/20 and this is estimated to result in 330 new staff and 160 new ambulances.

Priti said:

“This is positive news. I have campaigned for more resources for the East of England Ambulance Service and have worked closely with the Trust to turn it around.”

“In my constituency, the population is set to grow, increasing demand on the service locally. With more paramedics and more ambulances, this should ease pressure on the service and deliver improved services for patients.”
