Witham MP Priti Patel has highlighted the role that recruitment agencies play in helping to improve social mobility by supporting people into employment. Speaking during questions to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Priti called on the Government to work with agencies like Witham-based Prime Appointments to lift more people into work and new training opportunities. Speaking afterwards Priti said:

“Recruitment agencies like Prime Appointments help people find employment and better paid jobs. They need more support from Government and reforms so they can steer more people onto training courses that are relevant to them to help them to earn more money.”

“Recruitment agencies are also paying the Apprenticeship Levy but not able to fully use the funds they pay in to invest in the most relevant training courses for those seeking work. I have been raising this issue with the Government as reform is needed and will benefit those looking for work or for higher paid work.”
