Witham MP Priti Patel has praised local farmers and producers from the Witham constituency during a debate in Parliament on British farming. Priti highlighted some of the excellent producers in the Witham constituency, including Wilkin and Sons, Daymens Hill Farm, Wicks Manor sausages, Shaken Udder milkshakes, Blackwells farm shop, C Humphrey and Sons meats, and Linden Lady, who supply chocolates to the House of Commons. Priti also commented on the need for the Government to support farms affected by bird flu and back producers keen to diversify and invest in their businesses. Priti said:

“This part of Essex is full of brilliant and outstanding farmers and producers making the best food you can find anywhere in the world. Even in these challenging times, they are working hard to provide great food and looking for new opportunities to grow their businesses, invest and trade more.”

“Bird flu has had a devastating impact in Essex and the East of England and during the debate I highlighted to the Farming Minister the need for more support to be given to those affected.”
