Priti meets cancer campaigners in Parliament

Priti Patel MP for Witham met with Oesophageal cancer campaigners in Parliament. Oesophageal cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in the UK, even though its pre-cancerous symptoms, such as heartburn, are relatively easy to recognise. At a recent Parliamentary event on Preventing Oesophageal Cancer Priti learnt about new methods and technology for detecting and preventing early-stage oesophageal cancer, particularly Cyted’s capsule sponge test.

The capsule sponge is a straightforward test involving patients swallowing a capsule to collect cells from the oesophagus. It helps detect oesophageal cancer earlier and can help reduce waiting lists.
