At their October Annual General Meeting, the Trustees of the Museum of Power have formally adopted Witham MP, Priti Patel as a Patron.

Dick Waylen, Chairman of the Trustees of the Museum said: “We are delighted that Priti has accepted our invitation to become one of our Patrons and the Trustees were more than pleased to confirm it. Priti has been a good friend to the Museum, visiting us on many occasions including attending some of our major events. It was a natural progression for us to invite her to become a Patron and her name on our letterhead will be of great help in our current efforts to promote the Museum and raise match funding for our proposed National Lottery Heritage Fund application, which we hope will lead to the construction of a new building to house a new reception and additional display areas.”

Priti said: “I was flattered to be invited to become a Patron of the Museum and if my name helps them with their publicity and fundraising, I will be delighted. The Museum of Power is a charity that is doing a very important job in both preserving a major part of our history through exhibits that illustrate the development of the technology of power over time and in educating young people about our heritage. I am particularly impressed with the Museum’s schools programme, which they briefed me about in some detail during my last visit. I wish them well with their National Lottery Heritage Fund application.”
