Announcement of new chair for Essex Mental Health Independent Inquiry
Priti Patel, the Member of Parliament for Witham, has welcomed the announcement of the new Chair of the Essex Mental Health Independent Inquiry, Baroness Kate Lampard. Baroness Lampard will bring certainty and her experience in leading such inquiries will bring comfort to the many families which have been affected and lost loved ones. Priti has written to Baroness Lampard to congratulate her on the appointment and has invited the Chair to meet with her to discuss how they can work together to get answers for the families.
Priti said: “I pleased that Baroness Lampard is now leading this vital inquiry and I look forward to engaging with her on this. The Baroness’ distinguished career is encouraging for both myself and the families. For too long the families have had delay after delay and today’s announcement is a welcome step forward.”
