Witham MP Priti Patel has Welcomed National Apprenticeship Week, praising the Government and businesses for creating over 6,000 apprenticeship opportunities for Witham residents since 2010. Figures released by the Government show that from the last quarter of the 2009/10 academic year, through to the first quarter of the current 2019/20 academic year, there were 6,600 apprenticeship starts in Witham.

Priti, who has supported local business in recruiting apprentices, said: “Over the last decade there has been a massive expansion in the number of apprenticeship starts in the Witham constituency and across the country. I have campaigned for more apprenticeships to be created locally, as they are an excellent opportunity for people to earn and learn. During National Apprenticeship Week, we should celebrate and praise all those who are on apprenticeship schemes and the businesses supporting them. I will continue to work with local businesses to promote apprenticeships and the valuable skills and life opportunities they bring.”
