Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, chaired a meeting with Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Witham Town GPs on Friday afternoon to press for action to secure the delivery of a new multi-purpose health centre in Witham [Friday 25 January 2019].

Priti has previously expressed her concerns about the delayed delivery of a new health centre in Witham Town and convened a meeting with the CCG and GPs to urge them to reach an agreement on proposals and move the project forward.

Speaking after the meeting, Priti said:

“There is widespread support for this project locally and the delivery of a new multi-purpose health centre in Witham Town must be a priority. I had a constructive meeting with the CCG and Witham GPs and I made it very clear that we need to see urgent action to secure the delivery of this vital facility.

“Witham needs a new health centre to meet growing patient demand and bring new health services into the Town. There was unanimous agreement at the meeting to move this project forward and the CCG and GPs have agreed to put patient needs first and work together to deliver this.

“I have encouraged the CCG to put a 12-month action plan in place to support the development of the new health centre. I will be monitoring the progress of the CCG and GPs closely and will be arranging further meetings to ensure that the actions in place are being completed within the agreed timeframe.”
