Witham MP, Priti Patel, is chairing a public meeting on Wednesday 15 August 2018 to discuss the development of Witham Station. The meeting will take place at the Spring Lodge Community Centre in Witham from 7:30pm.

In July, Priti held a similar meeting for residents with representatives from Greater Anglia [the planning applicant] and concerns were raised about the design of the proposed multi-story car park, parking in surrounding residential areas and road and pedestrian safety.

The meeting next Wednesday will be another opportunity for local residents to raise any concerns they may have about the planning application and representatives from Greater Anglia, Braintree District Council and Essex County Council will be in attendance.

Priti said:

“It is important that all those involved with this planning application listen to the concerns from local residents and work together in finding solutions to address these concerns.

“Since the last meeting in July, I have been in close contact with local residents and have forwarded all concerns raised with me to Greater Anglia, Braintree District Council and Essex County Council to ensure that they are taken into account when this application is determined by the Planning Committee.

“I will continue to press all parties involved to work towards a resolution and all local residents affected by this proposed development are welcome to attend the meeting next Wednesday to share their views.”
