Priti welcomes Beaulieu Park Station plans

The Witham MP, Priti Patel, has welcomed Essex County Council’s plans to approve funding and other agreements to deliver the new Beaulieu Park Station. The new station, situated between Hatfield Peverel and Chelmsford, will provide additional capacity for passengers, support local housing growth and with three platforms will help to ease some of the congestion on the Great Eastern Mainline, which has been a campaign spearheaded by Priti for a number of years.

Although the site is located outside of the Witham constituency, it is part of major infrastructure plans for this part of Essex which are supported by MPs across the area. The plans for the station will also be discussed by Essex County Council’s Cabinet next week, alongside funding secured from the Government to help with this project and the Chelmsford North-East by-pass.

Priti said: “Bringing new infrastructure to this part of Essex benefits the wider area and supports investment in housing, jobs and growth. These long-term plans are essential for our County to thrive and will give us a real boost as we look towards the future and our recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic. The new station at Beaulieu Park has been a long time coming and getting this delivered will help improve rail services and support the campaign for wider improvements to our rail infrastructure.”
