Witham MP Priti Patel is supporting their year’s summer reading challenge and calling on young people across her constituency to be Mischief Makers. The summer reading scheme is running in libraries across Essex and encourages children to read six books. The annual summer challenge has a Mischief Maker theme this year to coincide with the 80th anniversary of popular comic The Beano. After visiting Witham Library Priti said:

“The reading challenge is a fun and exciting way to get young people reading during the summer and has a great theme this year. Although we’re in August there’s still plenty of time to sign up and complete the challenge.”

“Earlier in the summer Witham Library supported my Get Witham Reading day in local schools and were signing people up to the summer reading challenge. I am pleased to back their reading challenge and encourage young people across Essex to go to their local library this summer and be a Mischief Maker.”
