Witham MP Priti Patel visited Collingwood Road GP Surgery with the Director of the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board, Dan Doherty to discuss local health matters and how better the ICB can support the practice. Priti praised the practice for their good reputation within the town and listened to their concerns around better communication with the NHS to improve patient outcomes. They also discussed the challenging issue of mental health and discussed the recent Government scheme, Pharmacy First, which will enable GPs to triage patients to local community pharmacies.

Speaking during her visit Priti said: “I was delighted to meet with the excellent team at Collingwood Road Surgery in Witham. In particular, understanding how their practice addresses patient needs and learning about their ways of working in relation to key NHS pressures was helpful. We were also able to discuss how the practice can be better supported to better improve patient outcomes by working with the ICB. My thanks are to Dan Doherty from the ICB for taking the time to listen to our local health professionals to better inform the ICB.”
