Witham MP Priti Patel has welcomed the presence in Witham on Saturday 8 September of a food and drink inspired street market. The stalls will be located alongside the regular market on Lockram Lane in Witham and will include meats from the Junkyard Smoke Bloke, cakes from the Polka Dot Cake Company and Mexican inspired food from Mex Appeal. The market will be there on a trial basis and if successful could become a regular fixture. Priti, who has been campaigning for more events to promote Witham, said:

“I welcome food and drink market coming to Witham next month in what promises to be an exciting addition to the current market. I have been campaigning with local businesses and the Town Council for more events in Witham and it is great that Braintree District Council has listened and have helped bring the market to Witham.”

“Events like these bring families into Witham Town, giving all businesses a boost. I would encourage the local community to show their support for the market and come and sample the brilliant food and drink from Essex with global flavours which will be available.”
