The Witham MP, Priti Patel has today (16th August) met with Derrick Louis, Chairman and John Niland, Chief Executive of Provide, the health & social care provider that supplies services across the East of England.  Subjects under discussion included dealing with the Group A Streptococcal outbreak in north Essex, in which Provide is playing a major role because they supply the majority of mid-Essex community health services.  They also discussed Provide’s plans for the centralisation of Podiatry and Ear, Nose & Throat clinics in locations that will deliver better quality of care for patients.

Commenting after the meeting, Priti said: “We had a very good meeting, covering a lot of ground.  I am very pleased to be working with Provide to ensure that the best quality of health and social care is being provided in my Witham constituency and that when serious issues, such as the Strep A outbreak occur, the most effective efforts are made to tackle the problem and prevent further spreading of the infection.”

Derrick Louis, Chairman of Provide said: “It was good to catch-up with Priti.  We were able to answer her questions on a wide variety of subjects and to give her a briefing on our plans for the future of health and social care in Essex. We are always pleased to meet up with local MPs to ensure that they are aware of our plans and of any issues we are dealing with at the time.”
