Priti calls in to help the Finishing Touches Salon celebrate 17 years of hair and beauty in Witham
The Witham MP, Priti Patel has called in to the Finishing Touches Salon at 3b Newland Street, Witham to meet proprietors and sisters Zoe Chivers and Hayley Jackson. The MP visited on Friday (16th July) to help them celebrate 17 years in the hair and beauty business. Zoe Chivers opened the Salon at age 19 and believes it is the longest owned hairdresser in Witham. Finishing Touches offers a full range of hair dressing and beauty treatments.
During her visit, Priti was given an outline of the history of the business and the services it offers. Zoe and Hayley also discussed the challenges they have faced during the pandemic and sought her advice about their business model going forward.
Commenting after her visit, Priti said: “It was great to meet Zoe and Hayley today and see the enthusiasm they have for their work and to hear about the effort they have put in over many years to make their business such a long term success. I certainly understand the difficulties they have faced in the last eighteen months but it is very encouraging to see how well they have coped and are bouncing back. They clearly have a loyal customer base, which is a testament to the quality of the services they offer. I hope that in the coming months, many more customers will come on board and help this excellent business to continue to grow.”
Zoe Chivers said: “Having Priti visit us has made this a very special anniversary. We welcomed the opportunity to tell her about our business and its history as well as to outline the challenges we face in the current climate. “I have very vivid memories of starting up 17 years ago and being told that I wouldn’t make it or that I’d run the business into the ground but we’re still here and I think we’ve done pretty well!”
