Witham MP, Priti Patel, called in to visit Prime Appointments in Newland Street, Witham to discuss regulatory issues affecting local firms which are leading to problems with job recruitment and training across the region. During her visit last week, Priti met with Managing Director, Robyn Holmes, to discuss how Government regulatory issues are affecting the recruitment and employment of local people when they are looking for new employment opportunities.

Priti is directly engaging with key Government departments on these issues and has requested that Ministers and officials meet with Robyn Holmes and Priti herself to help support more local jobs and business growth.

Commenting on her visit, Priti said: “Essex is a proud county of entrepreneurs, and small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Local jobs and employment depend upon the ease with which local businesses can recruit and employ people swiftly and without excessive regulatory burdens. Government must do everything to unblock obstacles to getting people into work, to allow our economy to grow and prosper.”

Robyn Holmes, Managing Director of Prime said: “I am grateful to Priti for meeting with me today to discuss a wide range of employment and training issues. We welcomed the opportunity to sit down with her to discuss our situation, the recruitment business in general and how we can present our case to Government to help get more people into work.”
