“Our high streets and town centres are changing and it is important that Witham is Town that is open to attract the new business and services that are looking for premises and good quality locations. It is a positive sign that Anytime fitness have a invested in an excellent fitness centre on the old Cop site, the Valero Lounge has taken on the HSBC building and Cannon BMW have expended by coming to Witham this year. I was pleased to welcome those business into our Town and wish them success.”

“I also enjoyed visiting the Tea Rooms, which is a fantastic place that has been in the Town over the last three years. Their entrepreneurial spirit means that local residents and businesses get great service and show that there is a place in our Town for independent businesses to thrive.”

“These remain challenging times for retail and high streets across the country so we cannot be complacent in Witham. With future housing growth we need to ensure that the Town centre has an attractive and diverse proposition so it is a place here people can go for all their shopping and lifestyle needs.”

“I had some great conversations with our local businesses and discussed how the government and local councils can do more to help and support them. Small and medium sized businesses are the backbone of our local economy and support the majority of local jobs. I will be working closely with businesses and the Chamber of Commerce in Witham to support them to grow and create more jobs.”

Tina Townsend said:

“We are always delighted to see Priti in town showing her support for our local businesses. We had some interesting discussions with them around current issues they are experiencing which will be followed up in due course.”
