Witham MP Priti Patel has popped in to visit the recently refurbished Vine Inn at The Street, Black Notley. This month the pub’s managing director Robert Smith has completed works to the kitchen, barn bar and garden and Priti was delighted to visit and encourage people to back their local pubs this Bank Holiday weekend. Priti said:

“The Vine Inn is a fantastic family pub and I was delighted to see the works to the kitchen, bar and garden. I was pleased to discuss with Robert the challenges facing the pub sector and the importance of national and local government policies supporting our locals so they can thrive.”

“The Bank holiday weekend is a wonderful time to visit family pubs for meals and I hope communities across Essex will be supporting their local.”

Robert Smith said:

“We are delighted to have been able to invest in the Vine Inn helping to make it a more attractive pub and restaurant for local people and in turn creating some new jobs for young people. We are hoping the Vine Inn will continue to grow and have additional investment planned over the next 2 years to further enhance the pub facilities. It was a delight to meet Priti and have a positive discussion about the challenges facing small businesses and pubs in particular and I am sure she will continue to support the views and concerns of small business to government going forward.”
