Priti grills Immigration Minister on Wethersfield
Witham MP Priti Patel has met with the new Immigration Minister Tom Pursglove to discuss the on going issues and local concern about the Wethersfield asylum site. The concerns relate to spiralling operating costs, its impact on local communities and the plans to use the site for another three years, which Priti is opposing.
Priti said after her meeting with Minster Pursglove: “The Minister has inherited a mess, but I am pleased Tom is taking a pragmatic approach. While I will continue to challenge him, the Home Office and the Government about this site and firmly object to it. I do welcome the engagement Minister Pursglove has shown on this important issue.”
